Customer Care: Maintenance Tips

Maintenance Tips

Wood Cabinets
For the first 14 to 21 days the finish/topcoat will begin to “cure.” During the curing period, do not attempt to clean the cabinetry. If you clean them before the cabinetry has cured you can permanently mar or damage the surface.

Caring for your wood cabinetry will be much like caring for any fine furniture. When cleaning the cabinets use a “damp” (not wet) cloth rag. Be sure to remove any excess moisture immediately. You may also use small amounts of 100% pure lemon oil applied to a cloth rag and wipe down the cabinets to keep them clean and fresh looking.

Never use abrasives of any kind on your cabinetry. Avoid using any waxes or dusting agents on the finish. Use only 100% pure lemon oil to bring out the beauty of your wood. Never let water sit on or penetrate your cabinetry.

The natural pigments that are in every wood may cause them to “age” or appear different over time. Direct sunlight will often expedite this “aging” process in your cabinets. Try to keep windows shaded so the sun does not directly shine on your cabinets. The areas that are exposed to direct sunlight may need more care and maintenance to retain the luster and beauty of your cabinets.

Therma-foil Cabinets
Caring for your laminate cabinets requires the use of non-abrasive cleaners. You can simply use a damp cloth to wipe them down. You may use mild cleaner such as Simple Green or similar product to clean the cabinets. DO NOT use solvents or thinners on your cabinets, using those products can cause de-lamination and will void your warranty.

  • Countertops
  • CARE AND MAINTENANCE GUIDE
  • Hi-Macs & Corian Countertops
we suggest the following for cleaning of your solid surface countertop. Use a GREEN scotch brite pad for the solid surface sinks. Use a BLUE scotch brite pad for the top of the countertop surface. We recommend liquid soap be used with these pads applied in a swirling hand motion. You may also use Comet; Ajax or Soft scrub with a swirling hand motion on matte finishes only.
  • Granite Countertops
Clean with warm water and liquid soap. Use a clean cotton cloth. Do not use an abrasive cleaner. (Granite may require sealing periodically.)

Quartz Countertops Regular Cleaning
Normal cleaning of Cambria® only requires a damp cloth or paper towel. For tougher spots, a mild non-abrasive cleanser can help. For best results, clean spills as soon as possible. Because of its durability, Cambria® is able to defend against absorption of wine, lemon juice, tea, wine, fruits and vegetables without permanently staining or damaging the counters.

Cleaning Dried Spills
For tougher stains and dried spills, mild non-abrasive cleansers are a good solution to keeping the surface smooth and high gloss. Recommended cleaners include Formula 409 Glass & Surface Cleaner, Bar Keeper’s Friend, Lysol, and Greased Lightning. For dried spills, a non-abrasive scrub pad can be used to remove the unwanted spill without the concern of causing damage or scratching to your countertop. Rinse thoroughly and wipe off with a damp paper towel to remove all residues. While Cambria® is usually able to sustain most household chemicals, avoid using products that contain bleach.
