Contemporary French Kitchen Remodel in Anaheim Hills, CA

We had the sunshine, warm breezes, and luscious aroma of the Parisian countryside on our mind when we ventured to our client’s home in Anaheim Hills recently. Our client was seeking a refreshed look for their kitchen – and when it comes to creating an inviting space to prepare fine meals, what’s better than being inspired by a Contemporary French style? Follow along with us as we illuminate some lovely features of this gorgeous kitchen remodel in Anaheim Hills.

This is a style that’s all about light and ambiance. Behold the beautiful cabinets, painted with an antique white finish. French wire graces the overhead corner units, opening up the room and eliminating hard edges. Wide, unfettered windows let sunshine pour in during the day, and at night the space is illuminated by copper and antique brass hanging pendant lights with vintage Edison bulbs.

This charming mix of wood and simple, understated metals really comes together to evoke images of a well-loved cooking space. A hooded stove is a staple, and note the backsplash as well – porcelain glazed tile, hand-cut and laid in a random pattern.

Traditionally, the French incorporate a planked wooden island into their kitchens. The one you see in this kitchen was done in a rustic knotty alder with an espresso stain, keeping in line with the warm earth tones of the space. We also added a contemporary style countertop known as Darlington quartz, from Cambria.
