Anaheim’s Million Acts of Kindness
Giving Back to Anaheim’s Residents
Mr Cabinet Care opened up their showroom and factory to Anaheim High School students interested in learning the basics of business, community-focused entrepreneurship, and the lost art of woodworking.
Following the company’s recognition at the 2015 Best of Orange County Celebration, Mr Cabinet Care met with Anaheim’s City Mayor, Tom Tait this past October. During this meeting, Mayor Tait extended to Mr Cabinet Care an invitation to participate in Anaheim’s “Million Acts of Kindness” campaign – an initiative to promote benevolence and goodwill throughout the city, and to encourage similar actions in others.
Mayor Tait launched the Million Acts of Kindness program in 2013, in collaboration with the Anaheim City School District. Inspiration for the campaign originated with local residents Edward and Karine Jaievsky, who started “Kindness Week” at Hillsborough Elementary School in memory of their 6-year-old daughter Natasha.
As part of the initiative, Mr Cabinet Care invited nine students of John F. Kennedy High School as well as city officials to spend the day at the company’s factory and showroom. In addition to learning basic principles of business and entrepreneurship, these students had a moment to connect with our very own CEO, Sid Jaridly.
Sid enjoys mentoring youth on goal setting and jumped at the opportunity of being their business coach for that day. Sid reminded each student that anything is possible, empowering them with the knowledge and skill sets needed to reach any accomplishment they can envision for themselves.
As the event came to a close, the students of Kennedy High School walked away with not only a goody bag provided by Mr Cabinet Care but also an actionable plan on how to turn their specific goals into reality.
