Instead of completely demolishing this room, our clients opted for a more affordable solution without sacrificing the kitchen of their dreams. To create this beautiful, contemporary look, we added a new countertop and appliances, and remodeled the old cabinets with custom new made doors and drawer fronts. This process is better described as cabinet refacing. Read on to learn more about the materials used that make up this modern yet warm and inviting space.
The simple cabinets feature a shaker style design. Although our clients could have cut corners (and their budget) by going with laminate cabinets, they opted for maple wood doors and we painted them white. They may be a little more costly, but you get what you pay for. Maple wood is a very hard, dense wood, which explains why it’s perfect to paint and lasts so long.
Our clients were originally set on granite countertops for their kitchen, but after we showed them some beautiful quartz samples from Cambria, they quickly changed their mind. With new, advanced technology, today’s quartz is a beautiful alternative to real stone – it has more of a natural look to it, and many designs to choose from. The countertop used in this kitchen is the very popular Torquay from Cambria. Another interesting feature of this kitchen is the adorable what-not shelf. This exposed shelving allows our clients to showcase family photos, a beautiful flower arrangement, or other decor items to add a pop of color and warm up the space.
